INTRODUCTION OF BBA

Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) program was introduced by Gujarat University in the year 1997. In the beginning, there were only 3 institutes which were offering BBA program. Today there are 8 BBA institutes affiliated to Gujarat University.

In Gujarat, many other universities like M.S. university-Baroda, S.G. university-Surat, S.P. university-Vallabh Vidhayanagar & Saurashtra University-Rajkot also run BBA programs with few changes in the course structure.

BBA program in Gujarat University is a 3 years full time professional course. To enroll in BBA, the student must have cleared H.S.C. exam in commerce/science stream with at least one of these subjects: Accounts/Mathematics/Statistics/English.

BBA course is structured in such a way that students who want to go for higher studies in MANAGEMENT like MBA/PGDBM get an idea about different subjects they are likely to study further. Infact this course provides good platform to learn different strategies, planning & control of business operations to start a new or to execute the existing business more effectively.

The outline of this undergraduate program is prepared in such a way that both theoretical & practical aspects of management are covered in the curriculum. For practical insight, industrial visit is organized by the respective institute in the first and second year of the program. Besides industrial visit, for the development of analytical skill, students are assigned projects & not only that but to enhance their ability to work in a team group project report is also mandatory.

In BBA, each year students study seven theoretical subjects alongwith practical like viva, tally, MS Office and group discussion. After commencement of the program in 1997, the syllabus of first, second & third year BBA changed in the years 2006, 2007 & 2008 respectively.
